Words such as "anxiety" and "depression" have become meaningless and thrown around casually. Sometimes we forget or don't know what it REALLY feels like. Having both anxiety and depression is like a constant battle. You're too exhausted to do anything, but then you get anxious about the things you should've done but didn't. One part of you says not to try because it's not worth it, and the other part says that if you don't, then you will fail at everything. It's been said that "Depression is not caring about anything at all, and anxiety is caring too much." Having both is conflicting and draining. Battling these two disorders is extremely difficult, and often we have to put up a facade and pretend all is fine because we are unsure how people react, and we are afraid that people will view us as "attention seekers," because that is what some people have use mental illness for, a way to get attention. For those suffering, it becomes extremely frustrating to see people who do not actually have these illnesses to claim they do because they are seeking some type of pity. It hurts those who are actually being affected because our treatment can be affected and false misinterpretations rise. In addition, anxiety and depression are difficult to understand if you don't experience it yourself. This song represents the feelings/experiences associated with these two mental illnesses in a beneficial way.
