Staying Out Of A "Funk" While At Home

Here are some little things to do every day to keep you healthy and happy during this difficult time:


1. Leave your bed! Even if you’re planning on watching Netflix all day— change your scenery. Try moving to the living room half way through the day.


2. Make your bed. Every morning, make your bed— either before or after breakfast. It’ll keep you feel calm and clear.


3. Clean your room. This doesn’t have to mean vacuuming— just the little things! That t-shirt laying on your chair? Put it in the laundry bin. Clear off anything laying on the floor.


4. Change your clothes. Even if you’re home all day, don’t sit in your pajamas all day. You can change into something comfortable, but just change your clothes!


5. Use WORDS. Meaning— do something that incorporates words rather than just watching movies or playing on the Xbox all day. Play a board game, read a book, write a journal, anything!


6. MOVE. do one thing a day that keeps your body moving. Even if it’s a five minute meditation or yoga exercise. Play just dance on the Wii (throwback!), download the Down Dog app and do some yoga— if you have amazon prime, there are some great workouts on prime video!


I know that we get lazy and we get tired— we just want to stay in bed all day. But keeping busy and making sure you do all these things can implement a schedule in your life and can make you feel more productive. Instead of “I have nothing to do and I’m bored,” you have a checklist of things to do and accomplish every day. Did I use words today? Did I move? Did I make my bed? It’s the little things!!
