My heart heals in certain way. It must feel pain and be wrung of sadness. In a mellow way, my heart must be soothed with somber music, flowing through my veins in rivers of emotion. In a mellow way, music notes must seep into me. Although the heart-wrenching words and melody makes my heart ache, in a mellow way, it blends in empathy to release the tension inside me. In a mellow way, tears flow in streams upon my cheeks, coating my lips with salt. As wet spots form on my pillowcase, in a mellow way, my chest feels lighter. It's as if the little men with hammers working on my soul have decided to wander out of my body and into the world. And in a mellow way, they have left the shattered pieces of my heart taped together until a more permanent solution can be found. As I hold my comfort closely to my chest, in a mellow way, I close my eyes and feel the pressure sink away. I focus on the silence and the darkness, and in a mellow way, the loneliness feels forgiving. In a mellow way, I breathe out the tension and inhale a new serenity. In a mellow way, my pain must be physically released... physically felt.
